My First Model!

I worked with my first model today! A lot of time and preparation went into this shoot. I was so afraid it wouldn't turn out like I imagined, but it did. Probably even better than I thought.

Megan is a girl I work with. She agreed to model for myself and another coworker for practice. We even had our own MUA. It was a pretty awesome day overall. I'm glad we went through with it.

I'm not sure how many photos I will upload here, most likely at least a handful.

Nikon D7000 + 50mm f1.4

I just got a brand-spankin-new Nikon D7000. Its a very large upgrade to my D3000. I sold it to a friend/co-worker of mine for her to give as a gift to her little sister. How sweet of her. =) With the money from selling the D3000 I bought a new lens as well, one I've had my eyes on for a while now. The 50mm f1.4 will most likely end up being my favorite lens for a while.

Next on my list of things to do/buy: Get shoots together for this year and purchase Photoshop Cs6. Its finally starting to warm up so getting out will be much more enjoyable.  

All around I am pretty happy these days. Of course there are a few bumps here and there, but it is what it is. I'm content and perfectly fine with that.

Back and Revamping My Gallery

I've been absent for some time now, but I'm back, better than ever with a new life.

Over the next few weeks I'll be uploading new photos and probably purging most of my old stuff.

Life update for those who I do not know personally:
I am in the military now, U.S. Coast Guard. I am stationed on Lake Michigan in Wisconsin and live with my boyfriend of four years. I'm much happier than I've ever been.

In my journal before I joined the military I mentioned that I would be moving over to Flickr. While that was mostly true, I still missed the community and familiarity that Deviant Art offered. I am still loyal to DA, but I will be posting in both places. The bulk of sets will mainly be uploaded on Flickr, but my favorites will be on DA.

So this isn't goodbye, but I don't think I'll be using DA as much anymore. I loved it when I first joined over a year ago (on another account), but I think its changed too much since then. Its just not the same place anymore.

I will still be uploading to DA as well, but I won't be spending very much time here. I am going to give Flickr a try for now. Seems to work for me so far. If you would like to add me as a contact on Flickr, click here.
